What does Mood Media cost?
Mood Media publishes no tariffs for the Netherlands; you get a quote on request. What is public is their US price list: subscriptions from $ 15.30 to $ 36.50 per month billed annually, per location. There too, the payment to the collecting societies is a separate bill.
What is and is not published
The US site lists three plans: Fundamentals from $ 15.30 per month, Signature from $ 31.50 and Engage from $ 36.50, each billed annually. An annual plan gives ten percent off the monthly price and includes a player worth $ 139.
A separate subscription is needed for each location, and also for different music in different areas of the same location.
For the Netherlands no price list is published online. That is their right, but it means you can only compare after requesting a quote — and that you have to put that quote alongside the levies added on.
The question to ask
When requesting a quote, ask for one amount including the payments to Buma/Stemra and Sena, or for explicit confirmation that they are not included.
With virtually every supplier of music by human authors those levies come on top, because they cannot remove that obligation. The point is not whether that is fair; the point is that otherwise you cannot compare two quotes.
What we do not say about them
Nothing about quality, suitability, service or catalogue. We do not know their service and will not pass judgement on it; comparative advertising in the Netherlands is only permitted on points that are objective and verifiable.
The two points that are: what they publish in tariffs, and whether the levies are included. The latter follows from the law and applies to everyone supplying music by human authors.
