Which prices does Mood Media publish?
The US site lists three plans, Fundamentals, Signature and Engage. The cheapest costs $ 183.60 per location a year on an annual plan, and a player is included.
A separate subscription is needed for each location. The same applies if you want different music in different areas of the same location.
For the Netherlands no price list is published online. That is their right. For you it means you can only compare once you have a quote. Then add the levies to it yourself.
What should you ask when requesting a quote?
Ask for one amount including the payments to Buma/Stemra and Sena. Or ask for written confirmation that they are not included.
With virtually every supplier of music by human authors those levies come on top. They cannot remove that obligation. Without the amount including levies you cannot compare two quotes fairly. What the levies cost for your business is on what a music licence costs.
Why do we only compare on price?
We say nothing about quality, suitability, service or catalogue. We do not know their service and will not pass judgement on it. Comparative advertising in the Netherlands is only permitted on points that are objective and verifiable.
Here those are the tariffs they publish themselves and whether the levies are included. The latter follows from the law and applies to everyone supplying music by human authors.
